New turf installed at Scotland Yard, just in time for baseball season

The HP Scots baseball team will be playing with an extra spring in its step this season, thanks to new turf installed at Scotland Yard during the last few weeks.

The new turf, which features an alternating-stripe pattern to imitate the look of cut grass, extends throughout the infield and even to the pitcher’s mound where dirt has been removed.

“It’s just really nice to have sure footing (on the mound),” said Grant Howell, pitcher and infielder for the Scots.

“It’s really nice to know that we have the support of the community and fans to build this field, and that they respect our program,” said Sawyer Lake, pitcher and outfielder for the Scots. “I can honestly say that this is the nicest high school baseball field in the state of Texas.”
