Post Season March Continues for Tennis, Cross Country and Volleyball!

imageThe HP tennis team is heading to the state tournament and looking for its eighth consecutive state title, and a sophomore runner is heading to the state cross country meet. The Lady Scots volleyball team is entering playoffs undefeated in district play, with a #3 state ranking. Please read below for more information about each team.

Tennis team wins regional tournament, heads to state:

After battling repeated weather delays, the HPHS tennis team emerged triumphant, beating The Woodlands College Park, Round Rock Westwood and, finally, Austin Westlake 10-4 in the UIL 6A Region II team tennis tournament Sunday evening.


imageThe Scots will advance to compete in the State Tournament Nov. 11-12 in College Station.
Sophomore cross country runner qualifies to race at state meet
HPHS sophomore Jordyn Kaplan qualified for the UIL State Cross Country Meet with a 26th-place finish out of 180 runners in the Region II Championship Meet Oct. 26. Kaplan will race in the 6A State Championship Meet on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

The Lady Scots finished sixth out of 24 teams.

The Running Scots mens team took eighth place out of 24 teams at the regional meet.

Volleyball team launches playoff run tomorrow.

The Lady Scots defeated longtime district rival J.J. Pearce on Oct. 27 and clinched the 10-6A district championship.

imageThe Lady Scots will face Skyline High School in the bidistrict round of the UIL 6A state championship playoffs at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Dallas ISD’s Ellis Davis Field House.
